The Sunset Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3)
of the Internal Revenue Code and Section 11.18(c)(1) of the Texas Tax Code including, but not limited to, the purpose of providing
financial assistance for higher education by establishing a high school scholarship foundation. Through the Foundation, financial
assistance in the form of scholarships shall be made available to deserving young men and women who graduate from Sunset High
School for the purposes of pursuing and furthering their higher educations.
The IRS has ruled that the Foundation, Employer Identification Number 75-2558949, is tax-exempt and that contributions
are tax-deductible.
The authority for the management, control and operation of the Foundation is vested in its Board of Directors. The street
address of the registered office of the Foundation is 102 S Plymouth Road, Dallas, Texas, 75211, and the name of the registered
agent at this office is James W. Rutledge.
The standing committee structure of the Foundation includes a Committee on Selections and Awards, a Committee on Investments,
a Committee on Development, and a Committee on Planning and Programs.
All gifts to the Foundation remain perpetually in a permanent endowment. Scholarships are given annually to deserving
Sunset graduates from the earnings generated by the endowment.
